When setting the angle of your LR antenna this angle correction needs to be taken into account.

Included here are some tools to aid you in figuring out your initial basic antenna Bering degrees.

Its rather amazing that between Alaska and Maine there is 40 degrees error between the locations

        compared to using true North.

Make sure to use the current values of this declination as it is changing over time.  Some old maps

        will no longer be accurate.

Resources for Declination Determination

1-    http://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/geomag/WMM/data/wmm-D05.pdf   This  gives a map of the worlds declination values.  NOAA source.

2-       http://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/geomagmodels/struts/calcDeclination     Finding your declination by Latitude and Longitude.. Also includes the change per year value.

3-        In LR's calibration, you can set the other stations antenna Bering from true north which can be quite substantial.  New Zealand for instance is in the 20 degree range.  As is Maine in the USA.
